The Ability to Schedule Jobs to Only Run During Certain Hours... (5 replies)
Sue, this is a common request.
We are working to implement it.
Not in the forthcoming 4.1 release, but perhaps in a Product Update.
Sue - you can use the Task Scheduler to run IMan integrations via a command line call. That will give you more flexibility.
We're looking to add this functionality in a product update.
Would you want this blackout period to apply to all schedules OR just specific schedules?
I have 2 different clients - one wants this for all schedules because they reboot servers and have backups running, etc. that they want to avoid. The other client wants to just run certain jobs from 8 in the morning until 5 pm. So for flexibility, I would vote to have the blackout period be specific for a schedule. Yes, it might be a pain then to set it up for every schedule you have, but it least it offers the most options for all clients... So I vote specific schedules.
Thanks!
Sue, thanks, we thought the latter would be the case.
This won't be coming in PU3 (out next week), but PU4 (November).
This has been a request from a number of my clients. They have jobs (like printing invoices) that run every 5 minutes, but they would really like those jobs to be turned off at night - due to other things running in the background.
I have one client who would like to limit all jobs to run from 5 am to 9 pm, so that when the servers reboot, and databases are backed up, the jobs aren't running.
Thanks!
