Jobs closing in designer (1 reply)
Has any other user encountered anything like this?
Upgraded to IMan v4.2 PU5 and this is still happening. It appears to coincide with scheduled jobs running while I am working in the designer. It was happening "all the time" but I found a job that had been scheduled to run every minute. After rectifying that, the next few occurrences of the problem coincided with a scheduled task run.
Behind the scenes there is often a "HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error ... Config Error Lock violation" and an event log error from ASP.NET relating to Process name: w3wp.exe Account name: \Iman and citing URLs which relate to the IMan designer.

In IMan version 3, in the designer, while working on a job in a transform, it sometimes just stops responding to key clicks and then closes the job and reverts to the "Options" tab. I have worked for a few years in this version of IMan at this site, and not encountered this before, but it is now happening frequently during job design. The behaviour occurs in both Firefox and Chrome. I restarted all services, and restarted the app pool, and restarted IIS but the tendency continued. It happens in various transforms, and at various points, when editing existing jobs or creating a new job. In seems to be becoming more frequent.
Has anyone encountered this and found a solution? Is there some sort of clearing of content required within IIS? Is there a log I should look in for more information? I realise that the correct solution is to upgrade. I am in the process of doing that but must do some development in the existing production environment before the upgradea nd migration of IMan and all other related applications can be completed.
