X3 Webservices Pool Setup (V6.x, V7, v8)
It is recommended to setup a separate user for IMan and assign the necessary roles and access required to post the data to be imported by IMan.
Webservices Pool Setup
In order to connect to X3 it is first necessary to setup a webservice pool. This is performed through the SAFE X3 V1 Management Console.
- Open the Management Console and go to the Web Servers section.
- Click Webservices & expand and find the Sage X3 Instance and Folder you wish to create the webervice pool.
- Press the Add Button to create a new pool.
- In the grid at the bottom enter the following:

A unique value to identify the webservice pool. This value will be used when setting up the connection within IMan (detailed in the following section). |

Can be any language; not used presently by IMan. |
pool.def.userid |
The X3 user id. |
pool.def.password |
The password corresponding to the userid parameter. |
pool.def.osuserid |
A window (or operating system password) for the webservice pool to use. |
pool.def.ospassword |
The password corresponding to the osuerid parameter. |
pool.def.maxpoolsize |
The maximum number of simultaneous incoming connections the connection pool can execute.
We recommend this be set to the number of IMan jobs which could be running at once + 1 (for the Data Preview service). |
- Press the Apply button to save the webservice pool.
